German citizens need the following documents for the international recognition of marriage:

– Birth certificate - in international form, completed by the registry office of the place of birth.

– Marriage certificate - in international form, completed by the registry office of the current place of residence.

 

– Passports - valid for at least six months at the start of the journey.

 

– For couples from other countries, we will have to clarify individually which documents are required to recognise the marriage.
